There are so many important reasons to clean and wash the interior of your vehicle on a regular basis, but it wasn’t until I heard that toilet seats can be cleaner than the average steering wheel that this notion really peeked my interest.
This is especially true for those who eat in their cars on a regular basis, since this lends it’s hand to be a breeding ground for germs and bacteria, just like those you would find in a garbage can where most toss the leftover remnants of the food eaten.
What wasn’t surprising is that the area where our feet rest was by far the dirtiest, with over 1,000 bacteria for every 1.5 square inches. This of course is according to the London’s Queen Mary University, who did the study last May.
And don’t think it stops there, germs and viruses can hang out in the vehicle’s heating system, so when you pump the heat or air conditioning, it is circulated throughout your car.
Let’s face it, cleaning both the interior and exterior of your ride on a regular basis is important, not only to keep it looking and smelling great, but it is also beneficial to your health and that of your passengers.
